COCOnut OIL: RIdicULOUSLy AMAZING...a MUST READ

DUDE.  For all of my natural, transitioning, and unnatural lovelies I found a miracle oil.  It is so light, with a light fresh scent - you can use it to cook, to put in your hair, to put on your skin, to eat, to use as chapstick, to use as lotion, to use as a spread...on whatever you want to eat...and to LOVE!!!!   I am pretty much addicted...bought it yesterday after I was advised by a stranger and I already feel like I'm a friggin coconut oil user PRO - ha yes...okay, I'm hopping on this oil train and I hope you do too! I mean, I may be late jumping on this lovely fantastic AMAZING COCONUT oil train, but LADIES...(and gentlemen - I bet you all could appreciate it on your hair and skin too!) it is an incredible product.  When you purchase it, and you can purchase it at like Whole Foods, Trader Joes and the nice Kroger - Marketplace or like health food stores, it will look like lard.  Okay not too appetizing, but once you get past the look there is NO turning back.  In Ohio, it's only like 6 bucks for a huge round container!  BUY it...!!!

Standing in my bathroom, I opened the jar.  The smell was light...I was told ingesting it is also helpful if you have stomach issues...I do..too much information (so I won't get into that)  but ahhh I grabbed a spoon, dug in there closed my eyes and put it in my mouth!  Surprisingly, the taste was so light, the texture...ummm a bit interesting, but that's okay because I've learned to melt it down and put it on a cracker, a peice of bread or even just put it in hot water and wait for it to melt and DRINK IT...SIDENOTE: drinking lukewarm or even warmer water is good for those with stomach issues...it also makes you feel full which helps if you are one of those people who enjoy buffet style breakfasts every morning...may slow ya down a bit...hahah!

Anyway, for my hair, I just take a small piece of the lard/oil, it only takes a little bit and put it my hands.  I rub my hands together and it instantly melts into it's lovely coconut oil form...then I just rub it in my hair - all over!  I dont worry about it hitting my face and causing acne, bc it WON'T! ...For my skin I do the same thing...the good think about this oil is that it moisturizes ALL day...it is not like traditional oils that makes you feel greasy, and it's not like lotion that after a few hours feels like you don't have any on! It's just right!

It's funny how natural products are SO much better for us...thinking about our processed foods including meats and fruits that are injected with so many chemicals and steroids that are not good for us!  In some cases SO bad for us.  SO to me, because natural is where it's AT - it seems so common sensical that natural hair has to be better for us too!  Don't you agree! hehehe SWitch it up!  Do the dooo baby!  Pun intended! Go NATURAL...you know you want too!

  1. I was just reading about coconut oil. I wonder if I could find it around here. I bought a coco butter stick for JJ's eczema and it worked. Have you ever tried raw Shea butter?

  3. @ Kry: I am sure you can find it, if there is a health food store...the stuff is used for everything! I have tried raw shae butter, I like it okay, but the smell kind of turns me off...and it can be super greasy. When I'm going for that look..or when my elbows are gray I'll slap on some shae butter. Coconut oil is just so light and the scent is not offensive at all! Extra virgin is what I bought...I bet you can find it online too!

    @ anonymous - YAY! :)
