APplication APplication APplication!

So ladies and gentlemen...when it comes to hair, there are a few things I have learned...here are three specific tips for my natural haired people!

1.  The application of hair product - whatever the hair style that you desire is SO important while trying to attain a certain look. If I am going for a frizz free look where the curls are defined more the best way to apply product is immediately after the hair is washed and still quite wet.  Even before you blot or use a  towel to dry it.  Specifically, I only comb through my hair in the shower with a lot of conditioner.  After I get out of the shower, I shake my hair dry but I DO NOT run my hands or a comb through my hair any more.  I then apply product (Of course I use my hands but I don't run my fingers through the curls) and put a towel around my hair and let sit.  If my it's in the summer I let my hair air dry, in the winter I blow dry my hair.
2. To get a bigger fro, using a blow dryer at the roots will help extend and "volumize" the fro.  Make sure not to comb through, just use the dryer close to the roots.  Dry the hair for 5 minute intervals allowing the hair to rest for like 30 seconds inbetween.  It sounds strange, but it helps!  Feel free to apply product as necessary.  But..
3. Less is usually better!  I've tried a MILLION products, and I have discovered products WITHOUT alcohol, sulfates, and heavy oils works best to keep curls more bouncy and not so heavy.  The more product you use, the more it will weigh down your hair.  Let your hair breath and be itself ...it's beautiful.  Your hair will get used to being natural, and will get back to it's natural curl!

I hope you enjoy these tips! :)
